Breast Ultrasound

An ultrasound examination of the breast is usually performed to further investigate a lesion that can be palpated by the doctor or the patient. This examination also serves as an adjunct to some indeterminate findings that occur during mammogram or MRI interpretations. The study involves placement of an ultrasound transducer on the skin of the breast. At Radiology Associates, the entire breast and underarm are evaluated with each ultrasound of the breast.
