Fluoroscopy is a technique used for obtaining “live” Xray images of a patient. The radiation passes through the patient to a TV monitor. This allows the Radiologist to watch the patient in real-time as the test is being performed. Fluorocopy is used to observe the esophagus (Barium Swallow), the stomach (Upper GI Series) and the colon (Barium Enema).
